DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS
Mega event on “FUN WITH SCIENCE” organized by Dept of Physics on 11th September 2023 in Room No. 31. In this program various fascinating experiments were demonstrated which help to understand fundamental concepts in Physics & science. Prof. Bhagwan Chakradev, former Professor in Physics at C. H. M. College, Ulhasnagar, Dist. Thane conducted this session with a simple & exciting explanation. Overwhelming response received from students. Hall was overflowing. During the question – answer session students actively participated with questions. Students from neighbouring colleges also attended the session. Anchoring was done by Dr. V. N. Pawar, inaugural speech is delivered by College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Sunatkari, Chief guests were introduced by Dr. S. Y. Shingare. Vote of thanks given by Prof. R.B. Chavan. Lastly, the national anthem session ends.
DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
The Department of Chemistry had organized NUCLIDEA 2024 under Siddharth Science association on 15th January 2024. Under this event many fun games and competitions were organized for students from Siddharth College and other college who had actively participated in all the events.
DEPARTMENT OF BOTANY
Environment Day and Mangrove Day
Botany department of Siddharth college of Arts, science and commerce, Fort. Celebrated World Environment Day and Mangrove Day on 19 August 2023 with great zeal. Many events such as Poster-making, Essay writing, Fruit and vegetable carving, nature Photography, best out of waste were held on the theme based on Environment and Beat plastic Pollution. S.Y.BSC students have presented an PPT on Importance and conservation of Mangrove. Speeches were given on Environment Day. The programme was concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winning participants by the Principal Prof (Dr.) Ashok Sunatkari .
Seed ball making Workshop
With the collaboration of NSS Unit and department of Botany of Siddharth College of Arts, Science and Commerce organized a workshop on Seed Ball Making on 17th August 2023 under the guidance of Ms. Rashmi Joshi (Environment Consultant), under the aegis of “Meri Mati Mera Desh”. All faculty members and students actively participated to make seed balls, where the seeds are covered with a mixture of soil and compost and given the shape of Balls and dried letters are randomly thrown to increase the green cover. This technique is used for forest regeneration and more effective than planting a sapling which were 100% Natural and Chemical free.
